Dr. Nanda’s lecture, “Skull Base Surgery: Why the Owl Minerva Flies at Dusk,” discussed the anatomy and indication the skull-base approach to neurosurgical treatment, highlighted by pictures and video of possible complications.
As Visiting Professor, Dr. Nanda also delivered an address, “Nobility of Spirit,” to Mayo Clinic neurosurgery residents, discussing humanism and surgery.
In academic medicine, the designation as a Visiting Professor is a high honor, signaling that the invited faculty member is a renowned authority in his or her discipline.

Dr. Anil Nanda, M.D., Chairman and Professor of the Department of Neurosurgery at LSU Health Sciences Center at Shreveport, was honored lecturer at the Mayo Clinic Department of Neurosurgery, in Rochester, Minnesota, where he was Visiting Professor on January 18, 2010.
