SHREVEPORT, La.—Dr. Anil Nanda, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at LSU Health Shreveport, was honored at the 7th Annual Central European Neurosurgical Meeting (CENS), held June 13th through 15th in Prague, Czech Republic. The CENS recognized Dr. Anil Nanda as an Honorary Member of the CENS, the highest honor the society can give a neurosurgeon.
In addition to being named a CENS Honorary Member, Dr. Nanda was an invited guest speaker being called upon to present “Havel, Hope, and Harmony in Global Neurosurgery” and “Posterior Petroclival Meningiomas: Trials and Tribulations,” in which he discussed the responsibilities of global neurosurgery as well as the challenges of tumor based neurosurgery. The CENS society is made up of six countries: Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and Slovenia. The aim of the 7th Annual CENS Meeting was to bring relevant and practical information to attendees through international experts that shared their own life experience in each of their topics.
Anil Nanda, MD, FACS, is Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at LSU Health Shreveport, the only academic health sciences center in north Louisiana. The primary mission of LSU Health Shreveport is to provide education, patient care services, research, and community outreach.
